Thorn Learning redeveloped and expanded the British Council’s online course Planning courses, producing a nine‑hour self‑study training package and a complementary workbook for English language teachers and course planners.
Project overview
Thorn Learning supported the TeachingEnglish open courses team by redeveloping two legacy modules, creating a third module from scratch, and producing a supplementary workbook. The project refreshed content, improved learner experience, and packaged the course in Articulate Rise for delivery via an eCom Scotland LMS.
How we worked with the client
We collaborated closely with the British Council TeachingEnglish open courses team through iterative drafts, stakeholder reviews, and QA cycles. Thorn Learning handled content writing, Rise development, asset curation, and final packaging for LMS deployment. Accessibility checks and proofreading were integrated into the production workflow.
Thorn Learning (Chris) supported the course delivery through his management of the Courses for teachers learning community (currently 100k+ members) where learners were helped to extend and apply learning within their own practice through live sessions, additional resources and daily discussions moderated by course tutors.
