Thorn Learning supported the British Council’s Global English Education Programme (GEEP) through the design and production of multimodal audio and video assets for AI-enabled language assessment, creating engaging learning and assessment content for online delivery.
Project overview
The British Council commissioned Thorn Learning to develop a suite of multimedia assets to support AI-based language assessment within the Global English Education Programme (GEEP). The project involved producing a range of professionally developed audio and video resources designed to assess and support language learning through authentic, accessible and engaging multimodal content.
Drawing on extensive experience in digital learning content production, multimedia design and online language learning, Thorn Learning developed a collection of assessment-focused resources that combined pedagogical rigour, technical quality and accessibility standards. The project included audio recordings, video assets, subtitled media and supporting production workflows designed to support large-scale online delivery.
How we worked with the client
Working closely with British Council stakeholders, Thorn Learning established a structured production process covering planning, content development, multimedia production and quality assurance.
The project involved:
- Defining technical and pedagogical specifications.

- Producing audio and video assessment content.
- Recording and editing voiceovers.
- Integrating stock imagery, video and graphical assets.

Particular attention was given to consistency across assets, accessibility requirements, quality control procedures and the management of multiple speaker profiles, media formats and production workflows.
