The Teaching for Success initiative is an ongoing collaboration between the British Council and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which supports teacher development in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
The programme’s aims are to equip teachers with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to teach more effectively, to adopt a child-centred, activity-based classroom approach as well as establishing a strong community of practice through which English teachers share ideas, solutions and best practice.
Chris supported the 2018-19 pilot through the development of CPD materials and working with 45 teachers in the West Bank as the moderator of their 5-month online course. Specific areas of focus included; motivation in the classroom, thinking skills, differentiation, assessment for learning, and approaches for inclusive learning.
