The Teacher Development Project (TDP) was a 3 year programme supporting primary school teachers, largely in rural contexts, in 9 states across peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo, through training, mentoring and remote learning.

As project manager, materials writer and lead trainer Chris supported 30 teachers across Peninsular Malaysia through a programme of developmental observations, mentoring and group input sessions. Learning was reinforced through the provision of classroom-based assignments with participants encouraged to record and reflect upon their teaching through the use of smartphones; independently identifying areas for further development and capturing evidence of best practice to be shared with others.

Chris was responsible for the writing and production of the following project-specific publications:

  • Supporting individual learners: Handbook and classroom tasks for teachers. British Council/Maybank Foundation. 2015
  • Supporting individual learners: Resource pack. British Council/Maybank Foundation. 2015
  • Supporting creativity: Handbook and classroom tasks for teachers. British Council/Maybank Foundation. 2015
  • Planning and reflecting upon support: Handbook and classroom tasks for teachers. British Council/Maybank Foundation. 2015

TDP was delivered by the British Council on behalf of the Maybank Foundation.
