ThornLearning supported the development and migration of digital teacher development content from a legacy system to Articulate Rise 360.

Following the successful delivery of two previous iterations of this project, The ThornLearning team were engaged to deliver 75+ hours of accessible, interactive digital teacher development content – moving from a slide-based format to Articulate Rise 360.

Our writers and builders; Nelson and Sangeeta, did this by:

  1. Reviewing and updating legacy digital learning modules (in terms of content and suitability for a new authoring tool).
  2. Ensuring alignment of content with stated learning aims.
  3. Designing additional activities to reinforce and check learning.
  4. Creating storyboards and supplementary glossary / further reading documents.
  5. Building and testing 40+ individual units in Articulate Rise 360.

Zoë supported and oversaw the project as the editor and asset manager, providing feedback to the writing team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality output that met client specifications.

The final modules, to feature within a global open learning programme, cover a diverse range of teacher development areas, including:

  • Classroom management
  • Dialogue, critical thinking and intercultural competence
  • Differentiation
  • How primary children learn
  • Language systems: grammar and functional language
  • Lesson planning
  • Primary learners: Grammar
  • Primary learners: How they learn
  • Primary learners: Thinking skills
  • Teaching English through literature
