Thorn Learning provided editorial support and quality assured the British Council’s online courses Integrating digital technologies and Digital competences for teaching English, two nine‑hour self‑study training packages and complementary workbooks for English language teachers.
Project overview
Thorn Learning supported the TeachingEnglish open courses team by quality assuring six self-study modules, the core components of Integrating digital technologies and Digital competences for teaching English, digital open learning course for English language teachers. We also produced the supplementary workbooks. The project created new, globally relevant learning content and packaged the course in Articulate Rise for delivery via an eCom Scotland LMS.
How we worked with the client
We collaborated closely with the British Council TeachingEnglish open courses team and another supplier, with Zoë Tysoe providing insight and guidance on developing open learning courses for teachers on Rise360. Zoë helped ensure the build met accessibility, style and brand standards.
Thorn Learning (Chris) supported the courses’ delivery through his management of the Courses for teachers learning community (currently 100k+ members) where learners were helped to extend and apply learning within their own practice through live sessions, additional resources and daily discussions moderated by course tutors.
