Thorn Learning quality assured the British Council’s online course Assessing learning, a nine‑hour self‑study training package and a complementary workbook for English language teachers.
Project overview
Thorn Learning supported the TeachingEnglish open courses team by quality assuring three self-study modules, the core component of Assessing learning, a digital open learning course for English language teachers. We also produced a supplementary Assessing learning workbook. The project refreshed content, improved the learner experience, and packaged the course in Articulate Rise for delivery via an eCom Scotland LMS.
How we worked with the client
We collaborated closely with the British Council TeachingEnglish open courses project manager through the QA cycle. Zoë Tysoe reviewed the storyboards and final build on Articulate Rise360 ensuring adherence to British Council course build guidelines (encompassing accessibility, style and brand standards).
Thorn Learning (Chris) supported the course delivery through his management of the Courses for teachers learning community (currently 100k+ members) where learners were helped to extend and apply learning within their own practice through live sessions, additional resources and daily discussions moderated by course tutors.
