The Tok Bali English Literacy project was a 10-month project supporting primary literacy and the learning of English in Malaysia’s Kelantan state.
As the project designer Chris worked with project schools and partners to develop our approach which involved a combination of teacher training, community events and the provision of high-quality storybooks. The project aimed to create a love of reading in primary school students, to support English teachers in their ability to teach reading and literacy skills, and to engage parents in encouraging their children to read and have fun learning English.
The Tok Bali English Literacy project was delivered by the British Council on behalf of Hess Asia, with the support of the Kelantan Department of Education.
