The Secondary English Teacher Development Programme (SETDP) is an online tutor-led training programme to help Japanese high school teachers of English develop their skills and confidence in teaching speaking and writing.

The programme combines online training events and webinars, tutorials, self-study courses and a portfolio-driven project. All of which aim to support teachers in implementing and sustaining improved teaching practices, whilst developing as reflective and collaborative practitioners.

In addition to directly working with 220 teachers over four years of the 6-month programme, in past years Chris has also supported this collaboration between Cambridge University Press and the Ministry of Education in Japan (MEXT) by mentoring online tutors, coordinating initial online training events, delivering webinars and tutorial sessions.
